‘Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better’
~ Albert Einstein
‘To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour’
~ Excerpt from Auguries of Innocence by William Blake
Hello and welcome, you wild witch you!
Some of you might already be familiar with some of my work, I write for Witch Way Magazine, The House of Twigs, Gods & Radicals, and most recently Spiral Nature, but if you’re not then let me introduce myself.
My name’s Emma, and I live in the middle of England with my family. I’ve always been interested in witchcraft and the occult, even from being a kid, but I’ve been practising seriously for over ten years now, and like many my practises have changed over the years.
My witchcraft is a blending of Traditional British witchcraft, Obeah and Vodou , a mixture that fully represents my heritage (I am mixed race, my mum is English and my dad Jamaican). My witchcraft is also inextricably linked to nature, and connecting with the land where I live , and building this relationship and working with nature forms a large part of my own witchcraft practises.
I truly believe that connecting with other practitioners, that the sharing of knowledge and ideas with respect, and honest and open discourse can only be a good thing, and this is what I hope these writings will achieve. And I also hope that sharing some of the things that have been helpful to me may also be of use to you do as you forge your own crooked path.
Witches are wild things and so we shall remain.
